Premium 8 Frame Beehive - Ready to Go

If you're looking to start a new beehive, Waggle & Forages preserved and ready-to-go beehive kits are a perfect start.  Made right here in Kyneton, Victoria, our beehive kits are complete with ready-to-go frames, melded with our own pure beeswax foundations.  Held together by a 4.5 metre galvanised emlock, all you need now are the bees!

Note: Live bees are not included.

Supers & Ready to Go Frames

Our premium pine supers are free of knots and have box-jointed corners.

Our supers are assembled using 44 x 65mm premium screws.  We then hot-wax-dip and paint, using a premium outdoor oil based enamel.

Frames and foundations are also made by us using sustainably grown New Zealand plantation pine and 100% pure Victorian beeswax.

Our pine is CNC cut by FSC Certified Alliance Woodware (ProWood) in NZ.

Deep Beehive Base

Also made here at Waggle & Forage, our deep beehive bases are inspired by a well respected local beekeeper and mentor, Jim.

Jim's bases (also known as bottom boards) fit a standard 8 frame Langstroth beehive, come with an entrance closure and have a 45mm pine rim.

Beekeepers often use deep bottom boards to allow bees to build their drone cells at the bottom of each frame.  This way, the drone cells are easily scraped away during an inspection and there is more likely to be full frames of honey, brood and pollen.

Our deep bases have a pine rim that has been hot-wax-dipped and painted with a premium oil based enamel.  The feet are cypress (also painted) and the bottom board itself is Weathertex.  The entrance closure is galvanised steel.
